Presidents Day, a federal holiday, is celebrated annually on the third Monday of February in honor of the 45 former presidents of the United States. (Grover Cleveland is counted as the 22nd and 24th President of the United States because he served two nonconsecutive terms.) The festival is still formally referred to as “Washington’s Birthday,” and celebrations are often held on or around the date that Washington was born on February 22.

Monday, February 20, 2023, is Presidents’ Day. Many people in the private sector will take time off for a holiday, but many public institutions will also be closed.
